Development of New PC-12 Diesel Engine Oil Category Has Begun; Will Replace CK-4 and FA-4 Oils

The current API CK-4 and FA-4 diesel engine oil specifications were introduced in 2016 and split the existing diesel engine oil category into two separate categories. With changes to emission standards expected in 2027 and updated requirements for fuel economy for certain engine models, a new engine oil category will be necessary to meet the needs of future engines. Work has begun on the new category which is currently called Proposed Category - PC-12.
